BTEX Emission Control Systems

With a focus on compliance, efficiency, and operational reliability, Scorpion's BTEX solutions are the ideal choice for operators looking to minimize emissions and maximize resource recovery in their facilities.

Forced Draft BTEX Systems

SCORPION forced-draft BTEX systems efficiently de-water and condition the destruct gas stream for combustion or compression. Its heat exchanger features a bottom inlet, allowing still column overheads to enter at 200-220°F. Free water and TEG carryover are immediately removed, preventing tube fouling and optimizing heat transfer for steam condensation. By the second pass, most water has condensed and separated.

In the final passes, fresh ambient air cools the gas to near ambient temperature, further reducing water content. On a 100°F day, the system achieves <0.02 lb/cf water content, allowing combustion without auxiliary fuel. Customers can also opt for SCORPION’s BTEX compressor systems for enhanced performance.

Forced-Draft BTEX System (1) (1)

Features

Enhanced Cooling Efficiency

Forced-draft condenser system achieves superior cooling compared to conventional shell-and-tube or ambient-cooled systems.

Reliable Closed-Loop Design

Captures 100% of BTEX vapors, reinjecting them into the facility’s process stream without venting or flaring.

Integrated VRU Technology

Scorpion’s VRU eliminates common failure points associated with transducers, positioners, and VFDs, ensuring greater reliability and precise pressure control.

Flexible System Configuration

Designed to handle a wide range of gas volumes and pressures, with optional booster integration for reinjection up to 1000 psig.

BTEX Closed-Vent Compression Systems

Scorpion's Full Capture BTEX Systems are engineered for total containment of BTEX emissions in dehydrogenation and compressor facilities. These systems integrate a BTEX condenser system with a simple yet highly effective VRU, ensuring that all non-condensable vapors are collected and reinjected into the process stream. By achieving up to 1000 psig reinjection pressure with booster support, these systems prevent harmful emissions from escaping into the atmosphere.

Scorpion’s Full Capture BTEX Systems eliminate the inefficiencies associated with traditional vapor recovery technologies, making them a superior choice for operators seeking a high-performance, environmentally responsible solution for emissions control.
